Do I need music training to use Young Maestro?
No. Young Maestro is designed to support all teachers, regardless of musical background. Lessons come with clear instructions, teaching tips, and embedded media to guide you through each step.
Yes. All lessons are fully aligned with the Australian Curriculum (ACARA) and state and territory guidelines. Our content is also mapped to Kodály and Orff pedagogical sequences. Every lesson section has the appropriate code for VIC and NSW as well as the national codes.

Yes. Young Maestro includes original Indigenous Australian materials created in consultation with Elders and educators, as well as filmed content featuring musicians from China, India, Africa, New Zealand, and Scotland.
Each lesson includes songs, scores, backing tracks, animations, worksheets, interactive tools, and built-in assessments. Lessons are fully editable and adaptable. Every lesson contains ten sections, which may be used in order, changed, edited, removed, and even your content added!
Yes. You can modify existing lessons or build your own using resources from the Topic Library and your own media uploads.
Yes. The platform includes a powerful Markbook that tracks both formative and summative assessments. It supports rubrics, performance tasks, reflections, and quiz data.
Young Maestro works on laptops, tablets, and interactive whiteboards. It’s fully browser-based and compatible with most modern devices.
